Jason Zogaib Memorial 5K Run/Walk |
The 3rd Annual Jason Zogaib Memorial 5K Run/Walk is a fundraising event organized by Mule Muscle, Inc. Jason Zogaib was a 1992 graduate of Bedford High School. Jason played varsity football and baseball at Bedford and was also an outstanding hockey player. He died from a rare form of leukemia in 2009. Jason represented dedication, hard work, and a “never give up” attitude. Jason constantly worked to improve his football and baseball skills and his unyielding work ethic inspired all who knew him including his fellow officers on the Ann Arbor Police force. Even as Jason battled leukemia he continued his commitment to hard work and exercise. In his 35 years, Jason demonstrated his dedication to excellence as a husband, father, teammate, police officer, family member, and friend.
For everything Bedford High School gave to Jason the Zogaib family believes it is fitting that the proceeds from this run will benefit Mule Muscle, Inc. Mule Muscle, Inc. is a non-profit 501c3 charitable organization devoted to improving facilities and equipment for Bedford athletes. The organization is undertaking a fundraising campaign to equip the new weight room at Bedford High School. Over the past two years the event raised $8,000 to help build the weight room now utilized by all the athletes and physical education students.
The race will take place on Saturday, June 16th, 2012 at 9:00 am at Bedford High School. Check in begins at 7:30 am. Mule Muscle, Inc. is seeking sponsorship support from area businesses to aid in the costs and materials needed to coordinate a successful event and fund the purchase of weight equipment.
